QuickBooks is accounting software for small businesses and offices. You can set up your email account in QuickBooks to send invoices via email. The QuickBooks app provides two options for the email setup:
Step : 1 WebMail
Step : 2 Outlook
If QuickBooks is integrated with Outlook, you can add your AOL Mail in the Outlook app and access it from QuickBooks. Alternatively, you can use the WebMail feature in QuickBooks to configure your AOL Mail account. For detailed instructions, go through the steps given below.
Steps to set up AOL server name in QuickBooks:
Step : 1To begin with, log in to your QuickBooks desktop account.
Step : 2Click the Edit menu at the top-left corner and select the Preferences option from the drop-down list.
Step : 3In the Preferences window, select the Send Forms option from the left-side panel.
Step : 4Click the My Preferences tab and select the WebMail option.
Step : 5Next, click the Add button and input your email info in the new window that appears.
Step : 6Under the email ID tab, enter your AOL email address.
Step : 7Select Others from the list of email service providers.
Step : 8Enter ‘smtp.aol.com’ as your server name and input the correct port number.
Step : 9Click OK and check if your AOL Mail server name is added to QuickBooks.
Steps to set up AOL Mail in Outlook and integrate with QuickBooks:
Step : 1Before starting, identify the AOL Mail server settings. If you don’t know the settings, refer below.
Step : 2Incoming mail server (POP): pop.aol.com
Step : 3Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com
Step : 4Outgoing mail server: smtp.aol.com
Step : 5After identifying the AOL Mail server settings, open the Outlook app and click the File tab.
Step : 6Click Info –> Add Account.
Step : 7Select Manual setup or additional server types.
Step : 8Choose the POP or IMAP option and configure the mail server settings on the POP and IMAP Account Settings page.
Step : 9Click on More Settings and select the authentication options in the Outgoing Server tab.
Step : 10Configure the AOL Mail port numbers for the incoming and outgoing mail servers in the Advanced tab.
Step : 11Click OK and then select Next –> Finish.
Step : 12Once you have added your AOL Mail account to Outlook, open the QuickBooks control panel/dashboard.
Step : 13Select the Default Programs option and choose Microsoft Outlook as the default email program.
Step : 14Next, click the Edit menu and select Preferences.
Step : 15Click the Send Forms tab from the left-side panel and select the Outlook option.
Click OK and check if the AOL Mail server name is selected in QuickBooks for sending emails.
