Let’s now look into the ATT mail server settings. The incoming (IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server settings for ATT mail are provided on this page. These settings will help you in configuring your email account on any of the popular email clients.

ATT.net Incoming (IMAP) Mail Server Details:

  • Step : 1 The Account Type is IMAP.
  • Step : 2 The User Name will be your Email Address.
  • Step : 3 The Password has to be your Email Account Password.
  • Step : 4 The Server hostname is imap.mail.att.net.
  • Step : 5 The Server Port will be 993.
  • Step : 6 For the Required Authentication? field, you have to select the Yes option.
  • Step : 7 For the SSL/TLS field, the Yes option must be selected.

ATT.net Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server Details:

  • Step : 1 The Account Type is SMTP.
  • Step : 2 The User Name will be your Email Address.
  • Step : 3 The Password has to be your Email Account Password.
  • Step : 4 The Server hostname is smtp.mail.att.net.
  • Step : 5 The Server Port will be 465.
  • Step : 6 For the Required Authentication? field, you have to select the Yes option.
  • Step : 7 For the SSL/TLS field, the Yes option must be selected.

For instance, if you wish to set up an ATT.net account on your Android phone, follow the ATT mail server settings given in the next section:

Manual Setup of ATT.net account on Android phone:

  • Step : 1 From the Applications screen of your Android phone, select the Mail icon.
  • Step : 2 On the next screen, enter your email account and password. Choose the Manual Setup option.

  • Step : 3 On the screen that displays, select the IMAP account type.
  • Step : 4 Now, you have to enter the following details for IMAP:
  • Step : 5 The IMAP Server is imap.mail.att.net.
  • Step : 6 The Port Number is 993.
  • Step : 7 Secure – Port has to be 993 and the Security Type will be SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
  • Step : 8 Insecure – Port should be 143 and the Security Type will be None (Accept all certificates).
  • Step : 10 Click on the Next button.
  • Step : 11 For the outgoing (SMTP) server, enter the following details:
  • Step : 12 The SMTP Server is smtp.mail.att.net.
  • Step : 13 The Port Number is 465.
  • The general ATT mail server settings (for SMTP) are provided below.

    • Step : 1 Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port will be 465 and the Security Type has to be SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
    • Step : 2 Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port has to be 587 and the Security Type should be SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
    • Step : 3 Outgoing (SMTP) Insecure – Port will be 25 and the Security Type will be None (Accept all certificates).
    • Step : 4 Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Insecure – Port should be 587 and the Security Type should be None (Accept all certificates).
    • Step : 5 Finally, tap on the Done button.

    The ATT mail server settings are now complete. You are set up and ready to use your ATT.net email account on your Android phone.
