In fact, you need not have to sign in to your Cox webmail whenever someone emails you messages. Below are the Cox email server settings that are used while setting up the email account in the email clients.

POP:

Incoming mail server: pop.cox.net

Incoming server port: 995

Security type: SSL

Username: Your Cox.net email address

Password: Your Cox.net email account password

IMAP:

Incoming mail server: imap.cox.net

Incoming server port: 993

Security type: SSL

Username: Your Cox.net email address

Password: Your Cox.net email account password

SMTP:

Outgoing mail server: smtp.cox.net

Outgoing server port: 587

Security type: TLS

Username: Your Cox.net email address

Password: Your Cox.net email account password

Steps to configure the Cox email server settings in Mailbird:

  • Step : 1 Launch Mailbird on your computer.
  • Step : 2 Click the Menu icon at the top-left corner and select the Options option.

  • Step : 3 Click Add next to the Accounts section.

  • Step : 4 Give your account a name in the Your name field and then enter your Cox email address in the Email field.
  • Step : 5 Click Continue –> Edit server settings.

  • Step : 6 On the Edit settings screen, go to the Incoming server section.
  • Step : 7 Choose IMAP as your account type from the Server type drop-down menu if you wish to configure your Cox email as an IMAP account.
  • Step : 8 Input the incoming mail server name in the Server name field and enter the port number 993 in the Port field.
  • Step : 9 If you wish to add your Cox email as a POP account, choose the POP option from the Server type drop-down menu.
  • Step : 10 Also, enter 995 as your port number.
  • Step : 11 Next, choose SSL from the Encryption drop-down menu.
  • Step : 12 Input your Cox email address and password in the Username and Password fields.
  • Step : 13 In the Outgoing server section, enter the outgoing mail server name in the SMTP server field.
  • Step : 14 Input the outgoing server port number 587 in the Port field.
  • Step : 15 Choose STARTTLS from the Encryption drop-down menu.
  • Step : 16 Select the Requires authentication checkbox.
  • Step : 17 Input the username and password in the available fields and click Continue.

Steps to configure the Cox email server settings in Outlook 2016:

  • Step : 1 Launch Outlook by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.
  • Step : 2 In the Outlook window, click the File tab.

  • Step : 4 Click Add Account below Account Information.
