Solution 1: Check the email server settings
Step : 1First, launch the Mail app on your Mac.
Step : 2Click the Mail menu and select the Preferences option.
Step : 3Click the Accounts tab and select your Earthlink email account from the left-side panel.
Step : 4Go to the Server Settings tab and verify the incoming and outgoing mail server settings.
Step : 5Under Incoming Mail Server (IMAP), check if your Earthlink email account details are correct.
Step : 6Verify if ‘imap.earthlink.net’ is entered in the Host Name field.
Step : 7If you have selected the Use TLS/SSL checkbox, check if port number 993 is entered in the Port field.
Step : 8Set Authentication to Password if you haven’t done it yet.
Step : 9In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) section, check your Earthlink account details.
Step : 10Make sure that the outgoing mail server name ‘smtp.earthlink.net’ is entered in the Host Name field.
