Kaspersky Database Not Updating Automatically

Usually, the Kaspersky database updates automatically. However, in a few cases, it fails to update the database automatically. The issue might be with your Internet connection, date and time settings, energy-saving settings, and so on. Try out the troubleshooting methods mentioned below and fix the error quickly.

Check your Internet connection

  • Step : 1 Check whether you are using a stable Internet connection. If it is not stable enough, fix it first and then check whether the Kaspersky database can update automatically.
  • Step : 2 CKaspersky takes around 15 minutes after the system boots completely. So, wait for 15 minutes after your computer boots up and then check whether Kaspersky starts to update.

Change the proxy server

  • Step : 1 Reboot your computer and then check whether the date and time settings of your computer are correct.
  • Step : 2 Then, disable the proxy server as it may block the Kaspersky program. To do the same, go to Settings> Additional> Network> Proxy server> Do not use a proxy server.

Change the power saver mode

  • Step : 1 If you are using a laptop, check the energy-saving settings of the security solution. Open Settings and click on the Performance option.
  • Step : 2 If the Disable scheduled tasks while running on battery power option is checked, then the Kaspersky antivirus software cannot update the database until you have plugged in your laptop.

Virus infection

  • Step : 1 When the computer gets infected with a virus, it will block access to the Kaspersky update. In that case, download the Kaspersky virus removal tool from its official website and run a system scan.
  • Step : 2 Once it detects a virus, quarantine it and then check whether Kaspersky can update its database automatically.

Configure the update settings

  • Step : 1 Launch the Kaspersky program. Then, click on Settings> Additional> Update setting> User account Settings.

  • Step : 1 If your subscription to Kaspersky antivirus has ended, Kaspersky cannot update its database automatically.
