Thunderbird Yahoo Settings

When you configure your Yahoo mail account in Thunderbird, you don’t need to log in to your Yahoo mail account every time. Instead, you can access all the messages from Yahoo in Thunderbird itself. The incoming and outgoing server settings play a crucial role in sending and receiving emails. So, when you configure your Yahoo account in Thunderbird, make sure to enter all the credentials correctly. Incoming mail server (IMAP)

IMAP stores the emails on the server so that you can access the same email from any of your devices. If you choose IMAP, use the settings mentioned below to configure your Yahoo account in Thunderbird.

Incoming mail server (POP)

POP stores the emails on your computer so that if you delete an email on your computer, you cannot retrieve it back. If you prefer POP, you can configure your Yahoo mail account in Thunderbird using the POP server settings mentioned below.

Outgoing mail server (SMTP)

SMTP is a common outgoing server for both the POP and IMAP servers. Here are the server settings for SMTP.

Email address: your complete yahoo email address

Configure Yahoo in Thunderbird

  • Step : 1 On your computer, open the Thunderbird application.
  • Step : 2 Click on the Tools menu and choose the Account Settings option from the drop-down.
  • Step : 3 In the New Account Setup window, choose the Email account option and click on the Next button.
  • Step : 4 Enter your Yahoo mail account’s username and password in the respective fields, and click on the Continue button.

  • Step : 7 Enter the port numbers for IMAP/POP and SMTP, enable SSL/TLS encryption for both servers, and click on the Re-test button.
