Your Gmail account is the key in such a case. Almost every Android mobile has a Gmail account linked to it. There is a way to unlock the mobile phone using the Gmail account. If you have signed in to the Gmail account on your mobile, use the below steps to unlock.

  • Step : 1 Open a web browser on your computer or any other mobile device.
  • Step : 2 Visit the official Google page and log in to the Google account. 
  • Step : 3 When the page opens up, select the Security menu on the left side panel and click Find a lost or stolen phone on the right panel.
  • Step : 4 Now, a list of devices can be seen on the screen.
  • Step : 5 Select your Android device name and follow the guided instructions.

The following steps work only for Android versions 4.4 and below.

  • Step : 1 Now, put the incorrect pattern on the mobile screen and the incorrect pattern prompt will appear.
  • Step : 2 Tap the Forgot pattern link and enter the Gmail account credentials when it prompts to sign in to the Google account linked to the Android device.
  • Step : 3 Once you log in, the mobile screen will be unlocked, and you could access the mobile settings.
  • Step : 4 Open the settings menu and change the screen lock settings such that you don’t forget it again.
