When you cannot send emails in the Verizon email due to error in incoming mail server settings, proceed with the troubleshooting steps mentioned here.

  • Step : 1 Change the Verizon email settings if it is outdated.
  • Step : 2 Open your email account. Right-click the account name and then select the Properties option. The Properties window opens.
  • Step : 3 Navigate to the Server tab. Set the account type as POP3.
  • Step : 4 Type in the Incoming Mail Server field.

  • Step : 2 Display the Servers window by clicking the Servers tab. Type POP 3 in the My Incoming Mail Server field.
  • Step : 3 Enter and in the Incoming Mail (POP3) and Outgoing Mail (SMTP) fields, respectively.
  • Step : 4 Ensure that the correct Verizon email address is displayed in the Email Username field.
  • Step : 5 After typing the new password in the Password field, click the radio button next to the Log on with clear text authentication option.
  • Step : 6 Search for the Settings button in the Outgoing Mail Server section and then click it to view the Outgoing Mail Server window.
  • Step : 7 Under Logon Information, click the radio button beside the ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’ option.
  • Step : 8 Click OK to exit the Outgoing Mail Server window. Click the Advanced tab.
